powers, skills, pets and equipment:

Aside from having been trained in the Turtle School's way of Martial Arts, Goku has varying skills and items that have aided him in his victories over many strong opponents.

Kamehameha: Literally "Turtle Devastation Wave", this is Goku's signature attack. It is an energy wave emitted from the user's hands; it is conjured up when the user summons his/her "ki" (life energy).

Afterimage Technique: The user moves so quickly that a mirror image is left behind. This technique is very useful in confusing an opponent.

Power Pole: A magical staff given to him by his late grandfather, Gohan. This red-colored weapon has the ability to extend and shrink according to the user's will.

Flying Nimbus: A cloud that only the pure of heart can ride. This cloud was received by Goku from Korin after his other was destroyed.

Statistics

Unlike the sequel to this series, Dragon Ball does not focus on POWER LEVELS TO THE MAX. Rather, victories are won by technique honed through trial and error.

Even so, there has been a recording of Goku's power level in Dragon Ball. At the particular point of departure from his canon, his supposed strength is at "260". Which taken in comparison to most human's being at "5", gives the impression that Goku has a significant advantage.

Still, in comparison to Dragon Ball Z Goku's power levels of 150,000,000 plus- Yeah, it's like a pebble being thrown into a pond that is actually a lake that is actually an ocean.

Goku is simple-minded and kind. On a regular basis he goes out of his way to the aid of others, no matter how little or big the problem. If someone, somewhere needs protection, he is always ready to toss his safety aside for the sake of another. In particular, he cherishes his friends more than anything and is willing to to whatever it takes to keep them from harm's reach.
